I first started serving in ministry as a middle schooler, helping out wherever I could in both tech and worship. Those early years taught me how much joy there is in serving the church and pointing people toward Jesus. After college, the Lord led me back to the church I grew up in, where I spent five years on staff in worship ministry. When I sensed God calling me to step out of what was comfortable and trust Him with whatever came next, that journey eventually led me to Laurelwood. From the very beginning, He gave me such peace and assurance that this was where I was meant to be.
I grew up in a Christian home and was in church every week with my parents. When they divorced while I was in middle school, I had to decide whether my faith was truly my own or just something I’d inherited. Since then, the Lord has continued to draw me closer to Himself and show me His faithfulness through every season.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and my master’s from Midwestern Seminary. Musically, I play acoustic and electric guitar, a little piano, and once upon a time even flute and violin. One day, I’d love to learn the cello and harmonica.
My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 7:13–14, a reminder of the narrow road that leads to life and the deep joy of walking it with Jesus. I’ve also been deeply shaped by the writings of C.S. Lewis, whose words continually stir my imagination and strengthen my faith.
Outside of ministry, I love being outdoors; hiking, camping, backpacking, fly-fishing, and taking photos along the way. I’ve also recently started birdwatching, which has been a surprisingly fun new hobby. My dog Jax, a Dachshund/Australian Shepherd mix, is my loyal adventure buddy and always up for whatever trail we find next.
