The office is in process of
updating the church directory. Please take the opportunity to fill
out a contact update form during service and place it in the offering
basket. You may also email or call the office with your
updates. If you would like a photo of you or your family please
submit it to the office via e-mail as we are trying to do another
pictoral directory. We will use the current pictures unless you
request otherwise or send a new one.

The office receives calls from
members wanting to utilize the talents of our own
congregation. Recently we received a call from a member wanting to
know who in our congregation they could hire to do electrical work in
their home. Unfortunately, we do not know who to refer these
callers to. We would like to add a section to the directory that
lists your profession / talent with contact information so our members
can use your business, place of business or talent when they have needs
for hire. Email the office with your information.
Recipes and
Remembrances

Calling all Cooks! We
know you have delicious recipes and some of those recipes have great
stories or remembrances to go along with them. Please share your
favorite recipes/remembrances with the family of Laurelwood so that we
can publish a cookbook with all of our family recipes. Please email
your favorite recipes to Shawn Iblings at iblingss@yahoo.com
or drop a copy of your recipe in the recipe box at the Women's
Kiosk. Due to the probability of duplicate recipes,
some may not be published. Thanks for understanding.

Christ in the Passover-the Passover is the Old Testament feast that
celebrates and remembers God's liberation of Israel from Egypt. You
will learn the history of this special day and the symbolism that points
to Jesus Christ.
Feasts
and Holidays-Throughout
the Old Testament, God commanded the Children of Israel to observe these
holy days as memorials to the might things that He had done in their
lives. This easy-to-use fold-out chart provides the name of each
holiday, date of observance, explanation of the holiday, and reveals how each
holiday points to Jesus as the promised Messiah.
100
things to know when dating-What
should men and women consider about members of the opposite sex?
Important topics to consider and discussed include character,
responsibility, Christian faith, honesty, motivation, habits, additions,
and danger areas among others. The pamphlet includes preliminary
counsel from Scripture, biblical advice on breaking up, encouragement
after a break-up, and a helpful Relationship Risk quiz.
How to
study the Bible-Whether
you are teaching people with no Bible experience or those who have
studied the Bible for a long time, this pamphlet provides an excellent
introduction to personal Bible study. It offers concise steps for
personal preparation, descriptive resources and reference information,
and a step-by-step approach for inductive Bible study that teaches
students to dig deeper into God's word.
Each pamphlet is only $4.00 and will fit nicely in your Bible for
reference. Many of the topics will be discussed in Sunday School
and Small Group settings.

Mission Focus
Mission
Focus: Clark County Fair: Many exciting things have happened at the Clark
County Fair this week! Please continue to pray for the people who
have taken tracts and heard the Bible story at the CEF booth, so far
there have been over 4,500 that have heard the message of Jesus!
Among those, 45 children, adults and teens have prayed to receive Christ
with several others seriously considering making a decision. Pray
that those seeds that have been planted would grow and that those that
made decisions would be strengthened in their newfound faith in the
coming weeks.
Persecuted Church (Used
with permission by Voice of the Martyrs)
North
Korea: is one of the most repressive
and isolated regimes in the world. The country denies human rights to its
citizens. North Korea is the worst perpetrator of persecution against
Christian's in the world. Christians must practice their faith in deep
secrecy and are in constant danger, though many continue to stand strong
under relentless persecution. Despite harsh conditions, Christians are
quietly adding to their numbers daily. Please pray for the persecuted
church in North Korea. Pray for the faithfulness of our brothers and
sisters and how this nation can be reached for Christ.
Church Family
Katherine
Sekerak - Thank you for all the
prayers for me and my family.
Carl St
Helen's sister, Winifred, went
to be with the Lord, August 13, 2009. Please pray for Carl and
Dorothy during this time.
