Current Support Level 50%

The last couple of weeks have seen a little movement on the support discovery side of things, but our focus was not able to be entirely on support discovery.  We started with some vacation time with Melanie’s family in Tampa.  It was good to “shut-off” for a few days and just spend time together.  We took a quick run down the Florida Keys and were amazed at the diversity of God’s creation and enjoyed just spending time with cousins and family.

Last week I was in Chicago attending meetings with International Teams, our partner organization in Australia.  My days were filled gaining a better understanding of their organization so we know how better to partner and assist them.  We are also working with their US staff and office, collaborating about how they can better mobilize and serve churches in the States.  I’ll be returning to Chicago the first of October to collaborate further with them and to do some training with them.  Melanie and the kids spent the week in Atlanta and were able to tour the capitol among other things.

I’m on my way down to Atlanta today to be reunited with them.  We’ll spend some time growing our relationship with our friends there and their church.  We’ll be running a debriefing event for their short-term mission teams on Saturday, doing some training with a team headed to Kenya and challenging the body to “Go!” themselves.

Support discovery is also a time when we can speak into other’s lives.  As we had lunch with one couple, intending to ask them to support us, we felt led of the Lord to ask if they were giving to their own church.  As a result of that discussion, we were able to challenge and encourage them to begin tithing to their local church and we heard recently that they have indeed begun doing that and seeing God honor that commitment in their lives.

We would covet your prayers for a couple specific things: a good strong handoff of my NW Area responsibilities and God’s provision for the support need.  There are some church team trainings in Sydney in November that we’ve committed to be there for.  Rather than making a trip down and back, we would love to just make the move by then, settle in and get going on the ministry there.  Please pray specifically that we’d be able to do that.

You could also pray for the family.  Living out of suitcases and in other people’s homes, while at times exciting, can also get tiring.  All of our hosts have been so incredibly gracious and truly made us feel at home and we are so grateful!  It is always fun to watch how God puts His body together and uses them to encourage and serve!  Pray that God would sustain us until He sees fit to have us move.

If you would like to be part of launching this new vision in equipping and mobilizing the church in Australia and around the world, you can let us know via email or phone or you can go to, http://www.deltaministries.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=48&Itemid=91

Thanks again for your vital partnership!  Even now, God is at work, even in this stage and we have the privilege to encourage and challenge people to give.  Thank you for your encouragement, prayers and support.

Thought for the Day: Said Francis Quarles, "He that gives all, though but little, gives much because God looks not to the quantity of the gift but to the quality of the giver."
