Music & Worship

The Worship Ministry is designed to encourage and help believers in authentic worship of our Savior. We view music as a vehicle to worship Jesus, but it is not the only vehicle. Ultimately, our goal is to worship in community through the Word, music, art, prayer, and service.

One of the most important goals for the Worship Arts Ministry is to actively engage and participate in worship of our living Savior. There is joy in Christ! And there is joy in fellowship. These two elements we seek to combine every Sunday as our church body gathers together, under the bond and unity of Christ, and give our praise and adoration to our Lord.

While worship is a unified, community event, another goal we have is to understand the reality that worship is a personal experience. We all worship Christ in our own way. Some seek quiet solitude and prayer; others enjoy being engaged emotionally through music. Still others connect to the intellectual truths of scripture. Or perhaps even the order and beauty of nature. All of these are wonderful, natural ways that we can worship God; and our goal is to enable the believer to worship in their own personal expression.

A final goal of the Worship Arts Ministry is to be relevant in an ever-changing society. Being intentional in our message and progressive in our worship is important to maintaining a well-balanced ministry. While there is need for tradition and uniformity, it is also important to never grow stagnant and to even embrace change. This can be done through new styles, new songs, new mediums… new ways of understanding ancient truths… new ways of touching the Father’s heart. Our God is a creative, beautiful God who loves His children. Our appropriate response is to never grow spiritually or emotionally complacent in our acts of worship to Him.

If you share a similar passion, we want you! Whether you sing, run sound, or work on video, you will be vital to this ministry… we truly are the body of Christ; and we need hands, feet, and everything in between! Feel free to contact me anytime or stop by my office and say hi.
