First Aid for Families, 9am in the Great Room 

Come join the discussion at 9:00 Sunday morning in the classroom off the great room as we prepare for Pastor Mike’s sermon. 

July 5 – Conflict ResolutionHow do you handle conflict in your home? Do you flee from conflict or choose corners and come out fighting? What are your children observing?  In this session, you will discover different  ways of dealing with conflict and choose some to try.

July 12 – Problem Solving Do you have “issues” that never seem to be resolved? Do you ever think,  “Here we go, again?”  Are you sometimes afraid to tackle an issue because you know you’re going to get into an argument about it? Learn a proven process for getting the “win-win” solution. Really, we’re not kidding!

July 19 – Bitterness and Forgiveness

“Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” Do you want the “joy, joy, joy, joy down in your heart?” Are you really supposed to forgive and forget? What if you’re suffering from bitterness and you don’t even know it? Join us for a look at how bitterness and unforgiveness affect us and discover God’s solution.

July 26 – Addictions (Drugs/Alcohol)

Have you ever felt helpless as you see someone struggling with drug or alcohol additions?  Learn what to do to help friends and family members and what resources are available.

Aug 2 – Addictions (Pornography/Sexual)

Hear from Earl and Sandy Wilson who treat these problems in their Tuff Stuff Ministries.  Learn more about what can be done about these problems that are destroying marriages and families.
 

Aug 9 – Parenting I (Strong Willed, Children /Teen Issues)
Diane Moore, author of Parenting the Heart of Your Child and parent Talk radio host on KPDQ 800 AM, Monday thru Friday 1:00 to 2:00 PM will share her insight on developing children with character and answer your questions.
 

Aug 16 – Parenting II (Prodigal Children)
Diane Moore will be back to share more on Parenting and how to handle the difficult issues with which many parents struggle.
 

Aug 23 – Abuse (Emotional/Verbal/Domestic)
Learn about what to do about all forms of abuse from Brad Peterson, founder of A New Life Christian Counseling.  Brad holds the highest level of certification in Washington to treat perpetrators of domestic violence and has created state certified abuse prevention programs.
 

Aug 30 – Intimacy
All of the hard work on building relationships from the previous sessions culminates here.  We all want intimacy and most will admit they do not get enough of it.  But exactly what is meant by intimacy?  Learn what it takes to create intimacy that will make your marriage stronger than ever.
