What to Expect

If you decide to join us for our Sunday morning worship service, we want you to know what to expect. If it will be your first time with us, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed or intimidated and will probably have some questions. Greeters will be at the door with a smile and a handshake to welcome you. They might lead you to the Welcome Table in the back of the room where you can pick up a Welcome Packet, made available for our guests like you. For your questions, please ask any one of our members. Ultimately, we desire for the Sunday meeting to be a wonderful experience: whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth. We want you to leave feeling encouraged with a sense of joy.

The service will start with an opening song: our “call to worship”… or our declaration of praise. There will be some prayer and announcements, and then we will launch into an opportunity to focus our hearts through singing worship songs. After that, we have a prayer for our offering. The offering is for those who call Laurelwood their church home and desire to give financial resources. If that’s not you, feel comfortable to let that plate pass you by. Then we worship through words of truth as we are taught from the Bible. When the service is over, there is a time to connect with the Pastor at the front of the stage, or, if you want someone to pray for you, there is always an elder available towards the back of the church. Thank you for considering Laurelwood as a place you might experience God and his truth. Please introduce yourself to us so we can connect with you further and help you in your pursuit of the Almighty and the abundant life he has for you.
